Salicylate belongs to a class of analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory drugs that include aspirin.

 

The quatitation of salicylate is important, in the diagnosis and treatment of salicylate overdoses and in monitoring salicylate levels to ensure appropriate therapy.
